The youth fellowships of the Diocese of Colombo celebrated the traditional yet an identical celebration, namely the “Flag Week & Youth Sunday” from 29th January to 5th February 2023.
This year theme brings a special attention, taking all children, youths and the adults back to their memory to a Sunday School Bible story, where Jesus Christ performed his miracle at Galilee by feeding the 5000 only with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.
We, the CCYM took a new dimension in iterating the theme “frdá myhs" இரண்டு மீன்கள்” with the intention of triggering the youths to Ignite to Move Forward, to offer whatever they have into God’s hands, as nothing is less or small in his sight, as he can do marvels out of nowhere and beyond expectation.

On the invitation of the Bishop of Colombo, the Rt. Rev. Dushantha Rodrigo, the Young Diocesan Councilors who participated in Diocesan Council 2022 were invited for a gathering on the 4th and 5th of February 2023. The programme began with the participants joining the Independence Day service at Christ Church Galle Face. The Bishop addressed the participants on the purpose and objectives of this initiative and encouraged them to make the best use of the two days in getting to know their role and purpose and one another. The introduction of the participants was through symbols that they had brought from their regions. The Young Councilor resource persons were creative in their presentations of the structure of the Diocese and finance with the Registrar of the Diocese speaking about the constitution.
St. Paul's Church, Moratumulla celebrated its 100th anniversary on the 4th of February 2023, and 16 candidates received the Holy Communion for the first time during the service.
Rt. Revd. Dushantha Rodrigo conducted the service and Revd. Malinda de Mel, the Vicar and Revd. Indika Perera, the assistant curate also participated.

Selvan, Archdeacon of Jaffna, Inter- Religious leaders and Priests from denominations, Sisters and priests from Roman chthonic church, pastors from Free churches, and Christian community from different parts of Sri Lanka, was participated.
