Background

The Church of Ceylon Prayer Ministry was launched in October 2017. Church leadership is increasingly aware of the need for prayer to permeate every activity of the church. The aim of Prayer Ministry is to encourage an attitude of intentional prayer in every church member and to equip and enable those with a specific calling for intercessory prayer.

Our Mandate

To ignite a burning desire for deep and Intentional Prayer in the hearts of every individual, every Family, every Church and in our Nation, and to undergird in Prayer every Ministry, Board, and Committee of the Diocese and the Mission of the Church.      

Activities

• Anglican Prayer Network (with over 500 members) praying for the mission of the church every night from 9.15 to 9.45 pm
• Quarterly newsletter : The Witness Newsletter
• Monthly prayer groups and retreats
• Noon Time Prayer
• Clergy Children’s Fellowship
• Prayer Ministry desk at Diocesan council
• Praying for the Sick and distressed
• Partnering with/ Facilitating church prayer events
