Revd Keerthisiri Fernando who is currectly serving as Vicar of St. Francis of Assisi, Mount Lavinia will be appointed as the 5th Archdeacon of Nuwaraeliya.
The Installation Service will be held on 29th April, 2016 at 06.00PM at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Colombo 07.

independence Day 2015 was marked by a feeling of enthusiasm and much optimism for a fresh beginning, right across the country. A new President had been elected, a new interim government formed and a “100 Day Programme for a Real Change” put into place.
The Church of Ceylon Board of Christian Education organized a Sunday School Teachers National Conference from the 15th of January to the 17th of January 2016, at the Cathedral Premises. This Conference was the brainchild of the Bishop of Colombo , who shared with the Planning Committee that the Lord had laid in his heart a passion to gather the Sunday School Teachers of the entire diocese, to share our expectations with them to what God calls us to accomplish, pray , lay hands and send them out in faith, to feed the lambs in their care.

The 130th Sessions of the Diocesan Council of The Church of Ceylon were held from 26 to 28 October 2015 in the newly refurbished Diocesan Council Chambers housed within the grounds of the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour.
Today marks the International day for the elimination of violence against women and the start of the 16 days of activism against Gender based Violence.
